Google map shoes that it is 1.2-1.3 miles. Very walkable. I walked back at night because I didn't want to take a cab/Uber/Luft for the 2 blocks that was not trafficky.

Agreed. No need for a car. You're close enough to the trolly lines to get most places. Bourbon street and the quarter are not a far walk either. If you're driving in, may want to park long term at Louis Armstrong Airport and uber/Lyft to the hotel. Its 11-16 per day, so much better pricing than the valet.
